Experience one of Costa Rica’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters during the Resplendent Quetzal nesting season that ocuurs between mid-February until June can be extended July. Journey into the cloud forests of San Ramón de Alajuela in search of this legendary and brilliantly colored bird. During nesting season, the forest comes alive with the activity of quetzal pairs as they search for food, defend their territory, and care for their young. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, you will explore the forest at a relaxed pace, learning about the quetzal’s fascinating behavior, habitat, and role in the cloud forest ecosystem.
